Questions about the Summer Student Memberships?  Here are the answers to some common questions about Summer Student Memberships.

I took classes in the spring but I am not taking classes this summer, do I have to purchase a membership for the summer?

Yes. Since you are not enrolled in the summer semester, you are not charged the Health and Recreation Fee. The cost for a summer membership is $50 for the entire summer, or you can pay per term ($11 Pre-Session, $22 Summer 1, $22 Summer 2).

Why do I have to pay a membership fee this summer?

Automatic access to the Recreation Center is determined by the Health and Recreation Fee paid during each semester. Students not enrolled in classes during any of the summer terms must purchase a membership. If a student is taking at least one unit during Pre-Session, Summer 1, or Summer 2, he or she will have their membership turned on automatically for that term.

I am taking classes this fall. How do I gain access to the Recreation Center this summer?

You are eligible for a summer student membership. The cost is $50 for the entire summer, or you can pay per term ($11 Pre-Session, $22 Summer 1, $22 Summer 2).

I did not have to pay for summer 2012 even though I did not take class. Why do I have to pay this summer?

Automatic access to the Recreation Center is determined by the Health and Recreation paid during the current semester. When the Health and Recreation Fee was implemented, it was decided to delay the summer fee implementation until 2013. This summer, the Health and Recreation Fee will be charged to students taking one or more unit. Non-summer students may purchase memberships for the same rate ($50 for the entire summer, or $11 Pre-Session, $22 Summer 1, $22 Summer 2).

Can I bursar the membership fee?

Only currently enrolled students may pay for services via their bursar account. If you are not enrolled for classes during a given term, you will not be able to bursar the charges.

I am a student at another school. Can I purchase a membership over the summer to use the Rec Center?

Yes, you can purchase a summer membership to Campus Recreation for the summer at our normal summer rate ($100 for the entire summer).  Please bring your student ID with you at time of purchase.
