    The locker rooms are closed throughout the summer for renovation. Temporary shower trailers on the pool deck and day lockers are available.
  • Changes to Pool's Summer Closing Hours: Now 8pm on Fri/Sat/Sun

    The Rec Pool will close at 8pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights during the summer; pool will remain open to 9pm Monday-Thursday.
  • Rec's Memorial Day Hours: 6a-8p

    The Rec Center will close early on Memorial Day at 8p (pool @ 7:30p).

Ferris is a third year undergraduate majoring in Public Health and minoring in Arabic and Environmental Science. He has also set both health and fitness as cornerstones in his life, and empowers others to do the same. He teaches Total Body Blast; while it's certainly a tough class that will challenge you, everybody is welcome, so come on out for a motivating and rewarding workout!

HAyley halkovic

Student Fitness Coordinator

Hayley is a senior at UA majoring in Public Health and minoring in Nutrition. She has been working at the Campus Recreation center since her sophomore year and is now a Fitness Supervisor. She is currently working on her certification to be a personal trainer for ACE. Although she is at the Rec Center at all hours of the day, in her spare time she combines her passion for fitness and health by hiking, running, lifting weights and is currently training for a bike trip through the Dolomites in Europe over the summer.

Abbey Roberts

Abbey is a sophomore majoring in Nutritional Sciences with a minor in Biochemistry. She is a Certified Personal Trainer through ACE and is passionate about health and fitness. Whatever your personal fitness level is, Abbey is confident and excited to work with you and help you achieve your goals. She recognizes that each individual is unique, and will provide you with all the right tools to help you succeed. 

Annie Mccabe

Annie is currently a Senior at The University of Arizona perusing a degree in Nutritional Sciences and Biochemistry.  She is a ACE-certified Group Fitness Instructor with a passion for nutrition, fitness, and overall well-being.  Annie loves sharing her passions with those around her in hopes of helping them to reach their personal goals.

Anthony Vito

Anthony teaches the yoga that kept him sane and grounded during his years in the hustle of NYC. His motivation now is to share with others the sense of balance, ease, and harmony his practice gives him. Anthony's teaching style reflects his Hatha training infused with Vinyasa flow cued up to a dynamic playlist. His typical class could include a Warrior sequence and then resolve with longer holds in balance postures, accessible inversions, and ease you into a beautiful Savasana. Experience for yourself Anthony’s sweet authenticity and devotion to the art of yoga!

Audrey Stelzer

Audrey has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. As a pre-physical therapy student, she is constantly researching the safest and most effective exercises to avoid injury and to promote strength and balance throughout the body. 

 

Barrett St. George

 Barrett St. George is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) both as a Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist. He is a three-time All American AAU wrestler who specializes in athletic training for optimal body composition. Barrett is currently pursuing a clinical doctorate degree in audiology at the University of Arizona and is a proud father of this little bundle of joy. 

Briana Gee

Briana is a Registered Nutritionist Dietetic Technician, an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, and Health Coach. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Nutritional Sciences and decided to combine her passion for fitness with her love for healthy food. Briana teaches a variety of group classes, is a LesMills Certified Instructor in BodyPump, BodyCombat, and GRIT, and is a TRX Coach. 

BRIttany Bohland

Brittany is a Les Mills BodyPump, BodyJam, and GRIT instructor and is currently a junior at the U of A. Brittany enjoys all things fitness and is a nutrition major/sports management minor; she is also an ACE certified personal trainer looking to develop her career in the health and sports industry, encouraging a healthy lifestyle to all!

 

Chris Beglin

Chris is a proponent of strength and condition employing dynamic, high intensity function movements. His knowledge of exercise technique and muscle physiology enables him to design and accommodate programs for a range of individuals with different capabilities and needs, promoting maximum performance while always assuring good from and avoiding injury. Chris is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer

Courtney Hurley

Courtney Hurley teaches cycling classes at the University of Arizona and works remotely as an Operations Consultant for a community bank in Kansas City. She received her MBA from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her husband, Justin (a current Medical Physics graduate student at the U of A) and four dogs, Ginger, Walk of Fame, Chief, and Moose. She also enjoys shopping, working out and going on leisurely bike rides. She has been an avid indoor cycler for over eight years and received her Schwinn Cycling Certification in September 2016. Cycling is her favorite form of cardio and she loves providing high intensity workouts with upbeat music. Join her for a fun-filled, energetic ride!  

Emily Burgen

Emily is a 200 hour registered yoga teacher (RYT). She initially got her certification in Power Yoga while living in Denver, since then she has expanded her training with sculpt and yin yoga. Emily has been teaching in gyms and yoga studios for over four years and has been practicing yoga for ten years. Emily's classes are great for experienced and beginner yogis alike. 

 

EMILY PUzo

Emily Puzo is a Senior studying Physiology, Italian, and Psychology. She teaches Zumba, Candlelight Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, and Yoga for Any Body. Her classes will be fun and accessible while still providing a challenge so that everyone can participate! Come be a part of an awesome healthy community in her classes! 

Eric Thomas

Eric attended the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO and has been Personal Training for about 4 years. He is certified through ACSM and enjoys the struggles and success of achieving a goal. Having a personal experience playing D-1 soccer/football combined with the professional experience as a Personal Trainer and athletic skills coach, he is confident addressing and serving a wide variety of individuals to include, general health and wellness, weight loss, physique, toning, strength/conditioning, increased muscle mass, post-rehab fitness, small group and sports specific training. His overall training philosophy goes beyond merely counting reps and going through the motions of training. He takes a very specific account for each client as a unique and distinct individual while constantly striving to motivate, support and help the client achieve his/her goals. He enjoys helping those walking though their health and fitness journey.

JAzmin Dagnino

Jazmin is a junior majoring is Physiology.  She loves to dance and stay fit!!  She teaches  Zumba and the reason is simple: Every class feels like a party! Come join her even if you do not know how to dance. Just move your body and follow her lead. It's easy! Come try it,  you'll definitely have a blast. She looks forward to meeting you!

Jeanne Osgood

Jeanne is certified with the American Council on Exercise (ACE) in group fitness and personal training.  She is registered with Yoga Alliance as a yoga teacher and is an education provider with ACE for  Pilates Teacher Training.  She teaches both vinyasa (Flow) yoga and Pilates.

Jen Patterson

Jen is a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor. She has been in the fitness industry for 17+ years and has been teaching at UA for 9 years. In her free time, Jen enjoys road biking, mountain biking and rock climbing. Although she works full-time in academia, she still loves teaching fitness courses, especially Spinning™.  During the summer, she teaches the Tour De France Spinning classes. This is a high energy class that gets your blood pumping and heart racing until the very end. She looks forward to seeing you in class!

Jenna Kaufman

Jenna is a second-year physiology major at the University of Arizona. She is also a certified Pilates Instructor.  Jenna was first introduced to Pilates through dance when she danced pre-professionally at the Colorado Ballet. In addition to dance and exercise, Jenna enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and helping others reach their fitness goals. She looks forward to sharing the benefits and rewards of Pilates.

Jordan Richardson

Jordan recently moved to Tucson from Madison, WI after completing her degree in Child Life & Studies of Education to pursue her dream job as a Certified Child Life Specialist. When she is not at work she loves being at the gym, taking fitness classes, and being outdoors.  She began dancing at the age of 3 and hasn’t stopped since. She taught Zumba for five years until she found WERQ.  WERQ is a fun cardio dance fitness class that is for all fitness levels! She can’t wait to see you in one of her classes. 

Julie frish

Julie is a certified Group Fitness Instructor through AFAA with additional certifications from Les Mills and Zumba Fitness. This summer she is teaching BodyPump, BodyCombat, and Barre. Currently, she is a 2nd year PhD student in Optical Sciences; utilizing time teaching at the Rec to take a break from the lab and give you an awesome workout!

Kate Chisholm

Kate is a graduate student at the U of A in Public Health and Latin American Studies and is an AFAA-certified Group Fitness Instructor.  She enjoys helping people of all fitness levels and backgrounds to reach their health and wellness goals.  Kate is also a Boston Marathon-qualified distance runner and loves to share her enthusiasm for running in the Couch to 5k class and beyond.

Kelsi Harris

Kelsi Harris is a devoted yogi, runner and avid cupcake eater. She has spent the last three years expanding her Hatha based practice with a Yoga Alliance RYT-200 Certification. Kelsi enjoys empowering her students to push themselves to their capacity while challenging them with a smile

Keri Billings

Keri is a certified personal trainer through ACE. She graduated from the U of A in 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health and recently completed the Fitness Professional Program at Pima Community College. She is very passionate about fitness and helping people become the healthiest they can be. 

Kimmy Golisch

Kimberly began practicing yoga about 5 years ago and has been hooked ever since! As a medical student she is passionate about health and wellness in the community. In her classes she brings awareness to the amazing benefits, both physical and mental, that yoga provides. She completed her 200 RYT training in Costa Rica this past summer and teaches mainly Vinyasa style classes.

Lauren is currently a certified Les Mills BodyPump instructor and Beach Body PiYo LIVE teacher. In addition to teaching fitness classes, Lauren is a successful distance runner. As an undergraduate at the University of Arizona, she plans to pursue a degree in the field of Nutritional Sciences. If you are looking for a challenging workout from a youthful instructor, come try one of Lauren’s BodyPump or PiYo classes this summer! 

Logan Kasper

Logan is an undergraduate student here at the U of A pursuing a degree in Physiology. He aspires to be an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports related injuries, and there stems his passion for health and fitness. This has driven him to begin his career by obtaining his NASM Personal Trainer Certification. As a Trainer, Logan focuses primarily on strength and physique training, but aims towards bettering his client's overall health and fitness by encouraging habits they can utilize the rest of their lives. Personally, he has experienced the  difficulties that come with athletic injuries and it is these experiences that have given him insight into rehabilitative training. His distinct attention to detail allows him to design the ideal program for each client that is geared towards their unique goals. He feels thankful each day to have the opportunity to aid people in their individual fitness endeavors. 

Mallory Page

Mallory is a second year undergraduate majoring in Nutritional Sciences and minor in Business Administration. She is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and she is passionate about using health and fitness as a way to make people feel their best. She enjoys watching her clients grow both mentally and physically over their training journey. 

MARIA Moreno

Maria is a senior undergraduate majoring in Nutritional Sciences and she is an AFAA- certified Group Fitness instructor. She is a strong believer in fitness and wellness and loves to help anybody wanting to achieve their personal fitness goals. It doesn’t matter if you have from zero to plenty experience in physical activity, she is here to help you and nothing makes her happier than motivating someone into pursuing a healthier lifestyle. Maria Pasamante

Maria Pasamante works as a Budget Analyst at Davis-Monthan AFB.  She was certified in Spinning in 2006 and licensed in Zumba in 2008. Zumba is a "feel-good" experience that is great for both your body and soul! Her goal is to motivate and inspire you.  She'll be right there with you, getting sweaty and working it - dancing together! Keeping Fit is not a Fad - it's a way of life!!

MEgan Gibbs

Megan is a student at The University of Arizona. Her passions in fitness and wellness are expressed through her work as an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor at The University of Arizona Campus Recreation Center. She organizes classes that focus on full body benefits while also hitting key target areas. She loves to promote daily activity while helping individuals along their fitness journey. 

Melina Rodriguez

Melina has been teaching group fitness classes along with personal training for over two years at Campus Recreation. She received her certifications through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and is a Junior studying Public Health at the U of A. If you're looking for a heart pumping and efficient workout, join her for High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) this semester!

Nicole LArson

Originally from Pennsylvania Nicole Larson has been teaching and training for over 17 years.   Nicole holds a M.S. in Exercise Science, along with NSCA –CSCS, ACSM-Ex Phys Specialist, Spinning, Surfset, Kettlebell, and TRX certifications.  Functional training, mobility, and alignment are big focuses in her one on one and group workouts.  She is also a certified Nutrition Specialist thru the AASDN. A former collegiate field hockey, softball, and club rugby player she has a love for sports. In addition, Nicole enjoys working with a variety of abilities and ages.  Being a military spouse she has had various opportunities and experiences over the years teaching, coaching, and training individuals from 3 to 87 year olds.  Nicole and her husband enjoy leading a healthy lifestyle thru outdoor activities, yoga, sporting events, and traveling. Aside from working out, I am passionate about helping my clients create healthy balance and help them reach their goals. 

Paula Arreola

 

Paula began working at Campus Recreation her freshman year as an undergraduate at the University of Arizona. She currently works in the weight room, represents Campus Rec as an ambassador, and is a cycling instructor, certified through Mad Dogg Athletics-Spinning. She can be found in the weight room or in the spin studio where she is devoted to encouraging both mental and physical growth - both inside and outside the gym. Paula is fluent in Spanish and grew up playing ice hockey in Michigan. Since moving to Tucson, she enjoys spending her time exploring outside with her dog, Lobo.

Sarah Cretcher

Sarah is an ACE certified Group Fitness Instructor seeking her Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology. She has been teaching fitness classes since 2008, starting at the Rec Center at the University of Colorado - Boulder. This year, Sarah will spearhead a new class format called Stepbox, a fusion of traditional step aerobics and cardio-kickboxing. Her classes are fueled with energy and variety to give you the workout you want while remaining accessible to all skill levels. Join her!

Shelley Russell

Shelley graduated from UA with a BS in Management Information Systems. Shelley's career in fitness began in 1996. Her certifications include ACE Group Fitness, ACE Personal Training, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, Spinning, Threshold Training (Levels 1 & 2), TRX Suspension Training, and Les Mills Body Pump. As an Internal Tester for Heart Rate Zones USA, she tested Heart Rate Zones System software for Triathlon Hall of Famer and company owner, Sally Edwards.

Sophie Mehrinfar

Sophie is a student at the University of Arizona, studying Public Management and Business Administration. She has been practicing yoga for six years and became a certified instructor two years ago. She loves teaching her Yoga Sculpt class that combines yoga with full body workouts and building a strong core while playing fun and upbeat music in class! 

Sophie Mitchell

Sophie is a Junior studying Marketing in the Eller College of Management.  She loves anything health and fitness and has been spinning for over five years.  She is a certified Spinning instructor who loves upbeat music and high energy rides!

Stacy Rollins 


Stacy Rollins has been loving Body Pump and Body Combat since 2005.  Group fitness makes time in the gym fun, creates relationships and keeps members committed. It's easy to skip a date with weights, but if you miss time in your group fitness class, someone's going to wonder why. If you've never tried group fitness before, come see what Body Pump is about. A basic weight training class that focuses on low weights/high repetition, Body Pump is all about you and your level, with room to build and get stronger. And if your inner warrior needs nurturing, come kick and punch in Body Combat. Stacy looks forward to meeting you, in either setting, and seeing you enjoy your experience at Campus Rec. When she's not hanging at Rec, Stacy's with her "Goofy" family!

STEPHANIE REID

​Stephanie is a 200 RYT yoga teacher who studied Vinyasa style yoga at Pure Yoga West in NYC. During her training, she was exposed to teachers from around the world who showed her just how much there is to learn about the yogic philosophy. She is excited to continue to learn and grow from everyone in the yoga community- including her students. Her yoga journey began when her 15 year long career as a competitive gymnast came to a close. Her transition into yoga was a swift one and she has been practicing regularly ever since. Her dedication to yoga is rivaled only by her love of the arts. She is currently studying graphic design at the U of A. Come to her class and you'll be sure to break a sweat and relieve some stress.

Vanny Rebuli

Vanny, a professional ballerina, has been certified in Zumba since 2012 including Zumba Basic, Sentao, and Step. She truly enjoys teaching Zumba and you will feel this through the energy of her class. Exercise doesn't have to be boring; feel the flavor and do Zumba!
