Are you currently lifeguard certified?  Is your certification near expiring?  As a lifeguard, it is crucial to keep your certification up to date at all times!  Come join us at the UA Rec Center to re-new your American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certifications.  The entire course will cover all materials required to be re-certified through the American Red Cross.  Register now!

Participants must be currently American Red Cross Lifeguard certified.  Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, participants will review teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED, and other skills you need to maintain your certification as a professional lifeguard. 

Lifeguard Review Session 1

Pre-requisites: 

Participants must hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification and be able to perform the following skills on the first day of the course to continue with the training:

 1. Continuously swim 300 yards (12 laps) using a combination of freestyle & breaststroke.

 2. Swim 20 yards retrieve, 10 lb. brick from depth of 10 ft., return to starting place with brick at water surface, and exit pool (max time 1 minute 40 seconds).

 3. Tread water without using hands for 2 minutes.
