Accommodations Available:  

Campus Recreation staff can provide a variety of accommodations and is happy to assist in any way possible.  We partner with the UA's Disability Resource Center to support multiple programs and services in the Rec Center (regular practice and court time for Men's/Women's Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Tennis and Wheelchair Rugby, and hosting various tournaments and events, as examples).

The Student Recreation Center has been renovated over the years with accessibility in mind.

2nd Floor Track, Conference and Multi-Purpose Rooms:

Convenient elevator access from the main hallway provides wheelchair access to the 2nd floor with conference rooms, multi-purpose training rooms, and the 3-lane indoor track & exercise areas.

Locker Rooms & Restrooms:
  • Main locker rooms were renovated in the summer of 2017
    • Accessible all gender cabana facilities
    • Private showers
    • Transfer benches (large transfer surfaces)
    • Varying height lockers
  • Front Desk Restrooms (2 located next to Smart Moves Studio and RecSPA)
    • All gender

Pool & Pool Deck:
  • Pool deck entrance from the Rec Oasis Lounge redesigned with a ramp
  • Outdoor accessible restroom
  • Pool has a "Zero Gutter" deck, built in ladder and pool stairs
  • Portable Aquatic Lift (PAL) available; lifeguards on hand to assist with operation
Smart Moves Studio:
  • Intimate gym space open to graduate/professional students and faculty/staff
  • Open hours:  Monday through Friday, 11a-2p and 4-8p
  • Accessible gym equipment
Weight Room:
  • Adequate spacing between equipment/ease of navigation
  • Wide pathways throughout gym floor
  • Equipment specifically designed for ease of wheelchair access
