What to know

  • Fall & Spring semester, we offer an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certification Prep Course for Group Fitness and Personal Training. The courses run 10-weeks long and provides lecture and practical application. This is an excellent way to subsidize your studying and will provide you with hands-on experience and feedback to help develop you into a great Fitness Professional! If you are interested in becoming a Group Fitness Instructor click the link here: GFI. If you are interested in becoming a Personal Trainer click the link here: PT.

  • If you successfully complete the Prep Course, you are eligible to be hired as a Trainee for up to 6-months. You must get certified within 6 months in order to continue employment in the Fitness Department.

  • We often host additional trainings throughout the year including YogaFit, Les Mills BodyPump & GRIT, and Zumba.

  • If you are interested in being employed at Campus Recreation, you are required to obtain a CPR-PR/AED and First Aid Certification through either American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Campus Recreation offers these certifications here
