-500 yard swim, with 100 yards of each of the following strokes- freestyle (front crawl), breaststroke, and sidestroke

-Retrieve the 10-pound diving brick from 10 feet of water

-Early morning, evening and weekend availability; flexible scheduling and break availability

 

The successful incumbent is required to have the following certifications and training:

 

-Valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding (CPR/AED & First Aid); Employees are required to obtain these certifications at their own expense. Campus Recreation offers a discount on certification classes for eligible employees. Other certifications may be considered. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting the Camp Director and affiliates in creating, developing, and implementing camp curriculum and logistics. These may include creating activity lesson plans for summer and school break camps, leading camp activities, ordering supplies and food, reserving space, family communications, aiding in the hiring, training, scheduling and support processes for staff, monitoring registration and taking payments, creating postings and paperwork for camp, arranging field trips, and other administrative duties.

Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the “A” camp environment.  This position requires transporting campers throughout the facility and maintaining communication with all areas of camp in addition to all departments within the facility that interact with “A” Camp.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to supervising student staff, providing excellent customer service, addressing patron, spectators and/or employee issues and/or concerns as needed and respond to any situation that may arise.

-Maintain communication with field trip groups as well as other areas within the facility

-Act as the next step in the disciplinary process, including potentially contacting parents to remove their camper for the day, if necessary

F45 Coach

F45 Coaches at Campus Rec will be in charge of leading at least one F45 class per week. They will create a safe and enjoyable fitness experience by giving clear explanations of the exercises, providing different options for each exercise, coaching through exercises, providing positive feedback, and maintaining a high-energy environment, which also includes appropriate music selection and control. The Coach will also answer any questions from participants to the best of their ability. Coaches should have basic certification knowledge of exercises, biomechanics, physiology, and coaching technique. In addition to holding a NCCA-recognized Personal Training, Group Fitness Instructor Certification, or equivalent fitness certification, an in-house training will be provided to make sure the Coach is prepared.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to ensuring a safe environment for patrons to recreate, cleaning and organization of weight room equipment, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly, enforcing fitness center policies, and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons. Duties will be performed in the weight room and Studio91 of SouthREC.

-Provide friendly customer service to EVERY patron entering and exiting the SouthREC facility

-Knowledgeably explain Campus Recreation memberships, fitness & Wellness programs, and other services

-Model department values and expectations

-Monitor patron use of equipment and facilities, conduct, and behavior. Aid and education as appropriate

-Provide spotting assistance if feasible and appropriate

-Enforce all building policies and procedures

-Minor janitorial duties including clean and sanitize equipment and surrounding areas, towel laundry service, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, etc.

-Attend staff meetings and trainings

-Actively engage in staff activities and responsibilities with a positive and respectful approach.

-Inform staff of any safety concerns, equipment needs or customer issues

-Special projects as assigned

-Excellent customer service skills

-Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds

-Proficiency in basic computer programs

-Must be enrolled at UA for a minimum of 6 credit hours (employment contingent on enrollment)

-Early morning, evening and weekend availability; flexible scheduling and break availability

-Must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week

The successful incumbent is required to have the following certifications and training:

 

-All Department of Campus Recreation employees are required to complete blood borne pathogen training within 45 days of hire and renew on an annual basis.

 

-Complete New Employee training which includes but not limited to Emergency Action Plan, Nondiscrimination and Anti-harassment Policy training, All-Employee Security (Computer) Awareness, and Online Driver Registration & Golf Cart (if authorized),
