UA Campus Recreation Personal Trainers are prepared to develop an exercise program specifically for you! From the novice to the elite athlete, our Trainers have the knowledge and skills to work with you in achieving your personal health and fitness goals. Our Personal Trainers will take a personalized approach to help you reach your fitness goals by demonstrating how to perform exercises correctly and effectively, motivate you, and encourage perseverance and dedication to fitness for life! 

Package options

We offer a variety of options for session packages to fit your needs and schedule. Each package option below will include a fitness assessment that will occur during the first session together. Assessments could include but are not limited to: body fat assessment, resting heart rate, height/weight, muscular endurance testing, muscular strength testing, and cardiovascular testing to establish a fitness baseline so your Trainer can best program to meet your goals. 

"SUMMER SPECIAL" If you initially purchased a package of 5 or more 30-minute or 1-hour sessions, receive 15% off if you renew with 10, 15, or 20  1-hour packages.

Note:  Eligible packages can be purchased 90 days before May 14th, discount ends August 12th.

60 minute sessions: Each 60 minute session will include a warm up, conditioning phase, and a cool/down stretch. This is our most popular option as you will be able to spend the most time in the conditioning phase to get the most out of your session. 

30 minute sessions: Shorter sessions are available and ideal for those that are often crunched on time but need some motivation to get moving! 30 minute sessions are also great for those new to exercise, enabling you to get comfortable with the new routine and your trainer before trying longer sessions. As a rule of thumb, it is best to first focus on increasing exercise time before intensity so eventually, progressing to 60 minute sessions may be the best option for you. 

Buddy sessions: All buddy sessions are 60 minutes in length. Working out with a friend has emotional benefits in addition to the physical benefits that will come along with your program. You and a friend with similar fitness goals can register for buddy personal training to receive discounted pricing per session to workout together. Buddy sessions must be used together. Buddies who have a non-member must use the non-member rate. 

Small Group Training: Do you have 3-6 friends interested in coming to the Recreation Center together but are having trouble finding your fit? This is a personalized option for a small group training program that you choose the goal - do you want a 12 week kettlebell class? Or do you want to focus on increasing endurance? Vague or specific, we will find a Trainer to fit the goals of the group! 

NOTE:  If you prefer to purchase an assessment and not receive training sessions, that option is available to you.  Assessments are 60 minutes in length. If you purchase a session package 5 or more, an assessment is included in the total cost.

Meet a Trainer

Every other Tuesday during the semester from 6-7 pm a Personal Trainer is available for quick assessments or to answer any questions about your fitness. Visit the Trainer located at the entrance of the weight room on designated Tuesday's! 
 
 

Frequently asked questions

Q: How do I sign up for Personal Training?

A: Two options are available to you to register. Click here and scroll to the bottom of the page to see the different package options listed. Select the package of choice and add this to your cart. Remember that you will still need to finalize your order after adding this to your cart. You can also go to the front desk in the Recreation Center and purchase sessions at the counter. 

Q: Can I purchase Personal Training sessions and not be a member of the Recreation Center?

A: Yes! In order to purchase a package and not have a membership to the Recreation Center, you will need to pay the non-member price. This will include your day pass into the facility to train. Your Trainer will meet you at the front desk entrance so that there is not an issue to access the facility for Training purposes. 

Q: Is there a payment plan option for Personal Training packages? 

A: If you are a student, you have the option to Bursar your training package and pay as you go. Bursars requires that the payment is done in full by the end of the semester to avoid a hold on your student account. If you are faculty/staff, you have the option to do payroll deduct. Ask our friendly staff at the front desk to enroll you in payroll deduct options (3 month, 6 month, 9 month). 

Q: I purchased Personal Training sessions but have not heard from anyone yet. Why? 

A: If you have registered for Personal Training sessions but have not yet heard from the Fitness Department, this means you have an outstanding health history form in your e-mail inbox. Upon registering, you will be sent an automatic email with a PDF health history form to fill out. This is vital to your training - this provides us information about when you are available, what your goals are, and if medical clearance is necessary prior to training. If you deleted this email on accident, reach out to us at Crec-FitWell@email.arizona.edu for a new copy! 

Q: May I request a specific Personal Trainer? 

A: Yes, you may request a specific Personal Trainer, however, we cannot guarantee an exact match based on availability. The staff will do their best to pair trainers and clients appropriately based on goals, availability, and client preference. 

Q: May I upgrade my Personal Training package after I have already started sessions with my Trainer? 

A: A client may choose to "upgrade" their personal training package at any point to using 50% of the sessions purchased. At this point, the client will pay the difference between the original and upgraded package. After using 50% of the sessions purchased, a client must complete the initial package prior to purchasing additional sessions. 

Q: If I graduate or move, will I be reimbursed for unused sessions?  

A: All packages are non-refundable and non-transferable. Clients will not be reimbursed for unused sessions. Sessions will expire 12 months after purchase date. 

Q: What happens if I miss a schedule session with my Personal Trainer? 

A: If a Trainer is not notified at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule a session, the session will count against the client's pacakge.
