OR Rental Center
Perform a variety of duties to support the Department of Campus Recreation Outdoor Recreation (OR) program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with rentals, trips, and programs, equipment organization and maintenance, safety and risk management, and day-to-day operations. This is an entry level position with opportunity for advancement through training and acquired technical and leadership skills necessary to operate outdoor trips efficiently, effectively and safely.
-Attend staff meetings and trainings
-Model department values and expectations
-Assist with day-to-day operational needs for outdoor recreation programs including equipment rentals, trips and instructional classes
-Complete pre- and post- rental equipment inspections
-Maintain the function and appearance of the department and equipment
-Keep clear and accurate records of rentals and inspections
-Work collaboratively with division and departmental staff to achieve the needs and gORls of the organization
-Special projects as assigned
The successful incumbent is required to have the following certifications and training:
-Valid CPR-PR/AED and First Aid Certification from an approved provider (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or American Safety and Health Institute) are required within 30 days of hire; Employees are required to obtain these certifications at their own expense. Campus Recreation offers a discount on certification classes for eligible employees. Other certifications may be considered. Check with your supervisor prior to making arrangements to obtain these certifications.
-All Department of Campus Recreation employees are required to complete blood borne pathogen training within 45 days of hire and renew on an annual basis.
-Complete New Employee training which includes but not limited to Emergency Action Plan, Nondiscrimination and Anti-harassment Policy training, All-Employee Security (Computer) Awareness, and Online Driver Registration & Golf Cart (if authorized)
-Excellent customer service skills
-Previous Campus Recreation experience with an exemplary employment record
-Prior experience with and/or knowledge of outdoor equipment
-Detail oriented and self-motivated
-Must be enrolled at UA for a minimum of 6 credit hours (employment contingent on enrollment)
-Early morning, evening and weekend availability; flexible scheduling and break availability
