    The pool will be closed 8a-5p on Thursday, December 21st for pool maintenance.

    All bags and items must be secured in lockers while in the Rec Center beginning 2018. Your safety is our #1 priority!
  • Winter Break Hours Begin this Friday

    Starting Dec. 15, Campus Rec will switch to Winter Break hours. Check the website for the complete hours of operation.
  • Rec Center Closed for University Closure: Dec. 24-Jan. 1

    The Rec Center will close at 6p (pool at 5:30p) on Sat., Dec. 23 and not re-open until 6a on Tue., Jan. 2, 2018. Have a great Winter Break!
  • Winter Break Camp 2018: Now Registering!

    Sign up children for 1 or more days at the Rec's licensed camp, Jan. 2-5. Healthy cooking, campus explorations, arts/crafts, & more!
  • Open Rec has moved to Bear Down Field

    For the rest of 2017, open rec will be available on Bear Down Field. Sitton Field is closed.

Campus Recreation strives to provide employees with quality job training as well as life skills for future career success.  Employees of our department receive over 40 hours of training and professional development opportunities each year.  Due to this, Campus Recreation student employees top the charts in innovation, professionalism, respect, community and integrity! Based on a Spring 2017 survey to all Campus Rec student employees, results indicated the following on career readiness, academic success, and persistence decisions:

  • 57% indicated their employment helped them acquire job-search techniques
  • 66% indicated their employment helped them gain career-applicable job skills
  • 69% indicated that their employment positively impacted their academic success
  • 61% indicated that their employment impacted their decision to continue their education at the UA

Value Awards

Any non-professional staff member, who best exemplifies the department values can be nominated on a monthly basis to receive a value award.  Recipients are selected based off of nominations from their supervisors, peers, and patrons of Campus Recreation. 

All Value Award Recipients are recognized at the End of Year Celebration, attend a lunch with the director, and are nominated for the Juliette Moore Scholarship.

Campus Rec recognizes the significant roles that our students play, and aims to support them as the future leaders in our communities. All-Staff Training


At the beginning of each semester, all Campus Recreation staff members are required to complete specific job training.  Session topics include emergency preparedness, customer service, staff management and leadership trainings.

End of the Year Celebration


Each year, graduating seniors and top student employees are honored and recognized at an evening cookout event.

Professional Development

Student staff are encouraged to pursue higher certifications and attend conferences and workshops that will improve their job performance here at Campus Rec. Each quarter, Campus Recreation awards $400 to students who apply for reimbursement for professional development related to their current position.
