What is outdoor REC?

The Outdoor Rec Program is designed to get members of the university community involved with the natural world through adventurous, human-powered activities. These activities include hiking, backpacking, mountaineering, canoeing, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, bicycle touring, cross-country skiing and caving. Each trip offers opportunities for activity skill development, personal development, social interaction, and safe and enjoyable recreation. Environmental awareness is emphasized throughout each trip.

Outdoor Rec is the place to experience all the Southwest has to offer. Explore mountains, canyons, waterways and desert by boat, bike or on foot. Outdoor REC at the rec center

Bouldering Technique workshops, Kayak Rolling sessions, and Climber Fitness Training are just a few of the Outdoor Rec programs located at the Rec Center. These opportunities give you the chance to improve your skills and experience the outdoors without leaving campus.
