Day Hikes

From local adventures in Saguaro National Park and Coronado National Forest to exploring Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend, we have something for every skill level and interest. All trips are guided by Outdoor Rec staff and include transportation both to and from Outdoor Rec, equipment, and meals in the field (night hikes do not have a meal but include a light snack)

Enjoy a moderate exertion level hike to Hutch's pool in North Tucson that ends in a beautiful series of pools- a refreshing escape from the valley's heat. Experience cool breezes, shade of the trees, a cool dip in a natural pool- all while getting a good workout hiking along the high mountain ridges. Lunch is included.

This 8-mile trek follows the Kings Canyon Trail to the top of Wasson Peak through the Tucson Mountains in Saguaro National Park. Traveling by moonlight will provide an interesting perspective of the desert as the trail winds through both desert scrub and desert grassland.  The hike from the saddle to the top of Wasson peak offers unique views of the Tucson city lights to the East and dark, sprawling desert to the West.  Quiet hikers may hear the nocturnal song of the coyote or sight a tarantula on an evening hunt. Sturdy footwear is required.  Exertion level: Moderate.
