Directions: Head up Catalina Highway until you reach Ski Run road, turn left onto Ski Run and drive up all the way past the ski resort. The gate to the rest of the road is only open when weather permits, the road will often freeze in the late fall-winter months. If the gate is open, continue past the ski resort all the up the twisting road till you reach a US Forest Service parking lot on the left. Leave your car there for the night, grab your pack, and hit the road. Continue up the road on foot till you see the observatory, there will be a small trail which goes along a fence for the observatory. Continue down this trail for about a mile until it opens up onto the Mt Lemmon Meadow! There are 4 established campsites in the meadow. Please remember to only camp in established campsites and use Leave No Trace practices as you enjoy the outdoors.
For a quick day trip take (8.2 miles) start at Sabino Canyon Recreation area. take the tram to the end of the road (this will save you about 4 miles), then use the West Fork Trail #24. At the fork take a left and continue on the trail, from here there will be a small trail on the right side of the trail. AllTrail Link
For a short backpacking trip (14 miles) start at Gordan Hirabayashi and head down Sycamore Reservoir Trail. Head down till the trail turns into the West Fork trail and take that all the way to Hutch's. AllTrails Link
Start at the Wilderness of Rocks trail (AllTrails Link). Continue down this trail for about 3-4 miles, on the left side of the trail will be a small path. Take this small, rocky path till the trail opens up to the beautiful pool (pictured above). More information on the Lemmon Pool can be found here.
