Campus Recreation strives to provide employees with quality job training as well as life skills for future career success. Employees in our department receive over 40 hours of training and professional development opportunities each year. Your gifts will help maintain high quality trainings and education for our employees, as they become future leaders in their communities.

Supervisor Training Series

Every semester student supervisors have opportunities to gain valuable leadership and management skills through the Supervisor Training Workshop series. Local professionals are invited to run the workshops and teach our students how to be leaders in their current roles and future careers.

All Staff Training

At the beginning of each semester, all Campus Recreation staff members are required to complete specific job training.  Session topics include emergency preparedness, customer service, staff management and leadership trainings.

Professional Development Scholarship

Student staff are encouraged to pursue higher certifications and attend conferences and workshops that will improve their job performance here at Campus Rec. Each quarter, Campus Recreation awards $400 to students who apply for reimbursement for professional development related to their current position.

End of the Year Celebration

Each semester, graduating seniors and top student employees are honored and recognized at an evening cookout event.

Student Staff Training Series

Every semester All Campus Recreation employees have opportunities to gain valuable life and job skills through a series of workshops put on by professionals on and off campus. Topics include: Diversity and Inclusiveness, Careers in Recreation, Effective Supervision and Mentorship, Resume Writing and more. 

Professional Staff Training Series

Every semester professional staff members receive ongoing education sessions, which include Risk Management, Managing to Get Results and Effective Hiring. New topics are offered each year help keep our staff current with professional practices and management techniques.
