Sibling discounts are automatically applied into your shopping cart when enrolling an additional camper.

A typical day at camp starts in the Camp Office through Outdoor Recreation located at 7th St and Vine Ave, we open our doors at 7:30 am. Walking into the camp office you will be greeted by "A" Camp staff and asked to sign your child(ren) in along with any paperwork that has not been filled out. From there, campers will join others in the gym for free play until 9:00 am when camp programming starts. Each age group follows a rotation schedule of games, arts & crafts, team building, and free swim until 4:00 pm when pick up starts until 5:30 pm back in the gym. Parents are asked to have their ID ready to sign your camper out.

On top of the typical camp programming we strive to add special events each week to the weekly themes. We also offer additional enrichment for an extra fee. Please take a look at our Voyager programs for more information.

Pick-up and Drop-off is in the Outdoor Recreation Center . This is located at the back of the recreation center near 7th and Vine Ave. Camp hours are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Drop-off starts 7:30 am to 9:00 am. Pick-up starts at 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Extended care is offered at no extra charge. If you need to pick-up your child early, please go to the camp office located in Outdoor Recreation.

Please make sure your child brings a lunch, water bottle, closed toe shoes for active games, bathing suit and towel as well as sunscreen (sandals for pool deck). A morning and afternoon snack are provided, however you may pack extra snack for them to eat. Though it is the summer, the gym space we occupy through out the day can get chilly so it is recommended that you bring a sweater for your child.

The voyager program is our field trip program. Each week there is a different field trip. You may sign your child up for this extra activity. An extra fee will be charged for the voyager trip as it is not included in the normal camp activity. Field trips will take place on Tuesday's and Thursday’s  The voyager field trips will be in the morning from approximately 9:00am-12:00pm during weeks 1-4 and 10. If your child is signed up for a swim lesson, this will conflict with the voyager program for the date you have signed them up.

During “A” Camp, you have the option of signing up for additional swim lessons in the camp morning, Monday-Thursday that start at 8:00 AM. If you intend on registering your camper for swim lessons you must be able to drop your camper off by 7:45 AM.

Like the voyager field trips, there is an extra fee for adding swim lessons to your camp programming. Sign up for one week or the entire summer! Your camper will progress from different skill levels with a swim report at the end of each week.

AYU voyager gives your camper the best of both summer camps combined! AYU Voyager is for rising 1st-2nd graders who have an interest in learning about STEM, but also want to partake in “A” Camp activities. Campers will start their day at “A” Camp for free play in the gym and when camp programming starts at 9:00 am they will travel over to AYU for STEM-based activities until 1:00 pm. Campers will travel back to Campus Rec where they will get to participate in afternoon free swim and closing camp games for the remainder of the day. It is an extra fee like the voyager field trips and swim lessons. Campers must be enrolled in "A" Camp, cannot be combined with any other voyager program or swim lessons.

“A” Camp is a weekly camp, there is no need to sign up for the entire camp. You are able to pick and choose which weeks your child would like to attend. If your child can only attend two weeks then you may sign up for those two weeks. The entire summer is not a requirement.

We require that each child has a completed emergency form, medical consent form (If medication is needed), photo/sunscreen/field trip release form, and an up to date immunization record turned in on the first day of camp. See the attached paperwork.

At the start of each week, campers will participate in a swim test during our afternoon swim time to indicate if they are able to swim on their own. If a camper is unable to pass the swim test, they are required to wear a life vest that is provided while in the swimming pool. If your child does not wish to take part in free swim, we will have an alternative activity taking place in the MAC gym.

Unfortunately, parking can be slightly tricky. We are working on finding a solution to our parking issues and will have more information ASAP.

“A” Camp provides 3 courtesy parking spots located in the Outdoor Rec parking lot during camp hours. There is metered parking along 7th st as well as parking throughout the neighborhood behind Campus Recreation. Meters and UA designated parking lots are free until 8:00 am and free after 5:00 pm.

At “A” Camp we understand that schedules can change.  In the event that you are unable to attend camp, a request must be made in writing to Allison Brown or Erin Tinker one week prior to the start date of the registered camp. A refund may not be given after registered camp start date. Transfer of deposits and balances can be requested between different weeks if space allows.

We understand that your camper's schedule might need to be modified. Our daily rates are $55 a day and you can only receive the daily rate through Erin Tinker at tinker@email.arizona.edu and 520-621-6891.

Our CIT (Counselor-In-Training) program is for youth ages 12-15. Our mission is to not only give a camp experience to older youth but to also expand their knowledge on what it takes to be a camp counselor. During a typical camp week, CIT’s will help with the younger groups on Monday/Wednesday/Friday, while on Tuesday/Thursday CIT’s will be given the opportunity to participate in activities with their peers.
