The University of Arizona Recreation & Wellness Center at Honors Village, also known as North Rec, opened on August 26, 2019. Located on the north end of campus, North Rec is part of the Honors Village complex, which also includes student housing, dining, Honors College spaces, and a Campus Health Counseling & Psych Services (CAPS) location.

Facility Space

North Rec is approximately 52,000 square feet, including 40,000 square feet of recreational space. The three-story facility features both indoor and outdoor areas.

Parking is available in a nearby parking garage and surface lot.

Amenities

North Rec is comprised of three floors:

  • First Floor: ShakeSmart, lounge, restrooms, fitness equipment, and a multipurpose sports court.
  • Second Floor: CAPS offices, lounge, restrooms, lockers, cabanas, and fitness class spaces.
  • Third Floor: Personal Training assessment studio, restrooms, offices, multipurpose rooms, cycle studio, fitness equipment, and fitness class spaces.

Member Access

North Rec serves students and Campus Recreation members on the north side of campus.

  • Students: Access is included through the Health & Recreation Fee, with no additional charge to use North Rec.
  • Faculty & Staff: Membership options are available on the Membership page.

A valid U of A CatCard is required for facility entry.
