What To Expect:

Spend your Sunday exploring local food, supporting community vendors, and learning new cooking skills on this fun and flavorful micro-adventure. We'll start the morning at the Rillito Farmers Market, where participants will have time to browse fresh produce, local foods, handmade goods, and unique offerings from Southern Arizona farmers and artisans.

After exploring the market, we'll select ingredients to use in a group cooking experience. Working together, participants will learn basic cooking techniques, food preparation skills, and how to create a simple, delicious meal using fresh local ingredients. No cooking experience is necessary-this trip is designed to be welcoming for beginners and anyone interested in learning more about food and cooking.

Expect a relaxed pace, plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow students, and a chance to enjoy the rewards of preparing and sharing a meal together. Participants should be prepared for light walking at the market and active participation in meal preparation. Whether you're looking to build confidence in the kitchen, discover local food resources, or simply enjoy a unique Sunday adventure, this trip offers a fun way to explore Tucson through food.

Food purchased at the farmers market for the cooking expirence is included.
