SOUTH REC NOTICE: FACILITY CLOSED FRIDAY, MAY 22

South Rec will be closed all day on Friday, May 22, 2026 due to City of Tucson sewer lining work impacting the facility’s water service.

Because all water to the facility will be shut off during the project, South Rec will not be permitted to operate in accordance with health code requirements and facility best practices.

Access to South Rec will not be permitted on Friday, May 22.

South Rec will reopen for normal summer hours on Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Memorial Day Closure

All Campus Recreation facilities will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. We will resume summer operating hours on Tuesday, May 26.

North Rec Closure Notice

North Rec will be closed for routine cleaning from Monday, May 25 through Friday, May 29.

We appreciate your patience as we complete this work to keep our facility clean and safe. North Rec will reopen with summer hours on Saturday, May 30.

South Rec Notice: Men's Locker Room & West Side Cabanas Unavailable

The South Rec's Men’s Locker Room and West Side Cabanas are currently unavailable due to emergency plumbing repairs.

Access to currently rented lockers remains available in a limited capacity; however, access may be temporarily restricted during active repair work.

Individuals interested in relocating their lockers during this time may contact crec-membership@arizona.edu to schedule the process.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as repairs are completed.

South Rec

Campus Recreation main entrance at UArizona

The Rec (Student Recreation Center), home to the Department of Campus Recreation, is located at the corner of E. 6th Street and Highland Avenue. This community center hub for the main campus at the University of Arizona provides UA students and patrons access to state-of-the-art facilities and programming/services in six main areas: Fitness/Wellness, Sports Programs, Outdoor Rec & the Challenge Course, Aquatics, Activity Classes, and Youth Programs (camps & activities).

Saturday: 8 a.m. – 11 p.m.
Sunday: 8 a.m. – midnight
