Hybrid Wilderness First Responder (WFR)
This Hybrid format WFR, certified through Desert Mountain Medicine (DMM) is a comprehensive and flexible approach that offers 30 hours of self-paced, online instructions through CANVAS. This is followed by five consecutive days (50 hours) of practical in-classroom components, providing a perfect balance of convenience and practical learning for anyone looking to expand their understanding of wilderness medicine. The course is enriched with new research in wilderness medicine based on the Wilderness Medical Society Clinical Practice Guidelines and updated industry-standard guidelines set forth by the Wilderness Education Medicine Collaborative (WMEC). Course participants will review foundational knowledge and apply newly learned skills and guidelines via hands-on scenarios and simulations, ensuring a thorough understanding and practical application of the course material.
