What To Expect:
The Aspen Trail and Marshall Gulch Loop is a scenic mountain hike on Mount Lemmon that winds through pine, fir, and aspen forest. Participants can expect a moderate 4-5 mile (6.4-8 km) hike with steady elevation changes, rocky and root-covered trail sections, and cooler temperatures than Tucson. The loop moves at a comfortable pace with breaks to enjoy forest views, wildflowers (seasonal), and the peaceful mountain setting. Weather can change quickly at elevation, so layers and sturdy footwear are recommended. This hike is a great option for those looking to experience Mount Lemmon’s classic forest trails without technical terrain.
