UAZ Roller Hockey National Championship

On Saturday, April 20, 2024 in Auburn, Maine, the University of Arizona's Roller Hockey club team defeated Michigan State University to capture the Division 2 National Championship in a 7-2 victory. After being down 2-0 in the first period, the team came roaring back with 7 unanswered goals. They also dominated the shots on goal with a decided advantage of 32-14. The win marks the first national championship in the sport in school history.

Coming off a 13-2 regular season, the team went 3-0 to win the tournament. To get to the tournament, they raised their own money, some of which came from gofundme.com. Club President Jackson S. said "The key to winning is communicating early and often. The more effort, the closer the group and people come together."

Student Employee of the Month for March

Congratulations Lucas!

Congrats to Lucas for being our Student Employee of the Month sponsored by NOCCO! The Minnesota native and dog dad to a Pitbull named Onyx is a senior studying Economics. Once he graduates, he has a job lined up in supply chain and logistics with the goal of going to grad school for finance in the future.

Lucas’s fitness journey started as “Workout Wednesdays” with his dad. They would lift at their local community center to bond and spend more time together. This got Lucas comfortable with the gym and setting goals for himself. He started taking lifting seriously his freshman year and is now a part of our Campus REC team as a Satellite Facilities Manager. His favorite part about working the REC is being able to make a difference. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication!
