What To Expect:
Get ready for an unforgettable weekend exploring one of the most iconic landscapes in the world. This trip combines hiking, camping, and plenty of time to soak in the views, making it a great adventure for anyone looking to experience the Grand Canyon beyond the overlooks.
Expect scenic hikes along established trails with time to stop for photos, snacks, and appreciation of the canyon’s massive scale. Hiking distances will vary by day, but we’ll move at a steady, supportive pace with breaks along the way. You’ll carry a daypack with water, food, and personal items while hiking.
Evenings will be spent camping near the canyon, where we’ll set up tents, cook meals together, and enjoy sunset colors, starry skies, and cooler desert air. No previous experience is required, but participants should be prepared for uneven terrain, elevation changes, and variable weather-from warm days to chilly nights.
Transportation, group camping gear, and trip leadership will be provided. Participants should bring appropriate clothing, sturdy hiking shoes, personal camping gear, and plenty of water. Expect big views, tired legs, good company, and memories that stick with you long after the weekend ends.
Dinner on the first day (Friday) will not be provided. Bring money to purchase dinner along the road trip to the Grand Canyon from campus. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner on Saturday will be provided. Breakfast on Sunday will be provided, and lunch will be on your own on the road trip back to campus on Sunday.
